Job Overview
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Safety Engineer to ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards across operations. The role involves implementing safety systems, conducting audits and reviews, and promoting a strong safety culture, particularly within ship repair, shipbuilding, or industrial environments.
Job Responsibilities :
- Implement, monitor, and enforce HSE policies and procedures at the workplace.
- Lead and conduct periodic safety review meetings and toolbox talks.
- Prepare and maintain periodic safety compliance reports, records, and documentation.
- Develop and update HSE procedures, safety checklists, formats, and risk assessment documents.
- Conduct regular site safety inspections, audits, and hazard identification exercises.
- Provide safety induction and ongoing safety training to employees, contractors, and visitors.
- Investigate incidents, near misses, and accidents; prepare reports and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
- Ensure compliance with statutory safety regulations and industry standards.
- Coordinate with operations, maintenance, and management teams to address safety concerns proactively.
Job Requirements
- Degree or Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical/Industrial or relevant discipline).
- Mandatory Diploma in Industrial Safety.
- 3–5 years of relevant experience in ship repairs, shipbuilding, or industrial environments.
- Strong knowledge of HSE standards, safety audits, and statutory compliance.
- Experience in conducting safety meetings, preparing reports, and delivering safety training.
- Good communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple safety initiatives effectively.
