Job Overview:
We are hiring a strategic, high-performing Sales Head to lead the business development function for a leading logistics company with PAN-India presence and a robust global transport and logistics network. The company specializes in end-to-end supply chain solutions, including freight forwarding (Air & Sea), customs clearance, warehousing, domestic transportation, and value-added logistics services.
This role demands a visionary leader with deep expertise in logistics sales and business development, responsible for driving national-level revenue growth, steering strategic partnerships, and leading a high-performing sales team to deliver on ambitious targets across the logistics and supply chain ecosystem.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee business development initiatives for Air & Sea freight across multiple industry verticals and geographies.
- Develop and execute a national sales strategy aligned with organizational goals.
- Build and nurture a strong sales pipeline by identifying large-scale, strategic opportunities and converting them into long-term revenue streams.
- Develop and maintain long-term relationships with key clients, understanding their logistics needs and providing high-value, customized solutions.
- Conduct strategic client meetings to identify cross-selling opportunities and expand service offerings across the client portfolio.
- Collaborate with internal departments (operations, customer service, finance) to ensure service excellence and client satisfaction.
- Ensure timely billing, monitor collections, and provide guidance on credit management strategies.
- Serve as the key escalation point for critical client issues, ensuring high standards of resolution and client retention.
- Coordinate closely with global offices to enhance international business development and manage key global accounts.
- Promote integrated logistics services including customs clearance, warehousing, domestic transportation, and last-mile delivery.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing national sales team, setting clear performance goals and enabling their success through training and motivation.
- Present sales performance reviews and strategic insights to executive leadership, aiding in business planning and forecasting.
Job Requirements:
- Graduate or MBA in Business, Logistics, or Supply Chain from a reputed institution or a related field.
- Minimum 8 years of proven leadership experience in sales or business development within the freight forwarding and logistics industry (Air & Sea) mandatory.
- Proven ability to lead large sales teams and deliver multimillion-dollar revenue targets.
- Deep understanding of global logistics, international trade, and multimodal freight operations.
- Experience in handling clients in Pharma, Engineering, FMCG, Consumer Goods, or Retail sectors.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strategic thinker with a customer-centric approach and a track record of driving transformational growth.
- Familiarity with value-added services like customs clearance, warehousing, and domestic distribution is highly desirable.
